One Year Later, But Finally Done!

Better late than never, right? Last year, I took one of Anna Corba's workshops at Silver Bella but did not finish one of the three projects. Honestly, I have so many unfinished projects but that's another story. After being home with a cold for several days and getting tired of tv, I looked around for something to work on and this one with the unfinished cone caught my eye.

I had already painted in the inside black, adhered the sheet music and threaded the hanging ribbon last year, so all I needed to do was add the embellishments.

I made a little crepe paper rosette and trimmed it with silver glass glitter. 

Next, I added some additional ribbon on the cone and some pink tulle at the bottom.

Some shredded paper and a few flowers inside and viola, done. Now, on to the other 294 projects just waiting to be started!

Happy Holidays Are Here Already

Yes, I know it's Thanksgiving, but I don't have any Thanksgiving pictures today. Mr. Turkey is still in the oven and the table isn't set. And since I'm home with a cold (talk about bad timing!), there will be no special table setting. But that's okay because the turkey, potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie are going to be so tasty yummy. And doesn't it all get eaten in 15 minutes anyway? Oh, but the anticipation!

Enough about the food... let's move on to Christmas. At the beginning of the November, I went to the monthly flea market at DeAnza College. One of the items on my list was vintage Christmas ornaments. I found this box for a good price which made me happy. I was looking for ornaments that were like those I had as a child and evoke special memories. I wanted the ones that were not just plain and round, but in these beautiful shapes.

I would love to find a small vintage style tree to hand them on. They are only about two and a half inches big, so they are not very big. I am imagining a white or pink tree, with branches sparsely apart. I've tried Googling it, but haven't come up with anything yet. I may just have to hang them from my faux plants!

For now, I'll enjoy my Thanksgiving Day and meal, but tomorrow, it's on to Christmas! My goal is to get some wrapping done and perhaps write some cards. So much to do, so little time but I've got my lists.
