A Little Bit More Christmas

Last weekend, I went to a Day After New Year’s open house party. Our host has the most incredible collection of Santa ornaments and decor. I want to share some of them with you today. There’s more photos but I’ll post the rest tomorrow.

Before we get to the Santa decor, enjoy this glistening gold wreath hung above the stove in their kitchen, swathed in golden light.

Trust me, we are on our way to the Christmas tree which has hundreds of ornaments on it! But first, we’ll see this Santa sitting by the fireplace with a cup of cocoa.

When we enter their home, we are first greeted by Mr. Christmas Moose (or is that a Christmoose?). He is wearing his festive antler-wear.

Ah, the tree. It must be at least eight feet tall and almost touches the ceiling.

As you can see, it is jam-packed full of Santa ornaments of all kinds.

Bruce, our host, has been collecting these Santa ornaments since 1986. His first one came from Hawaii when he went away that Christmas. His dad had recently passed away and he didn’t feel like celebrating in the usual way. So he brought back a surfing Santa and it went on from there.

A Santa with a wiry beard hangs from a branch.

Among the Santa’s are twinkling lights all aglow.

There are big Santa’s and little Santa’s. Stuffed ones, many hand-made and many with stories.

There is even a froggy Santa!

Around the house are other Santa’s of various shapes and sizes.

Many are among their animal friends like this bear.

This Santa looks quite cozy with his puppy at his feet and bear in his arms.

This is a gorgeous large Santa with his friend the polar bear.

So many beautiful Santa’s to look at, it takes some time to absorb them all. All works of art.

See the angel Santa that sits atop the tree? Tomorrow, more Santa decor from his wonderful collection!
